Conventional Braces

Conventional braces work using individual brackets and archwires to move your teeth into position. Each bracket is fitted to the surface of your tooth and the archwire is slotted into these brackets. As the archwire attempts to straighten using light force from elastic bands, it gradually moves your teeth into their desired position.  Ceramic or Clear braces are getting popular nowadays as they are esthetically more pleasing.

Invisible Aligners

The terms “invisible aligners" or "clear aligners” refer to type of orthodontic system that is less easily noticed than traditional braces. It also typically refers to systems such as Invisalign®, Spark® that are used to correct cosmetic problems with front teeth. Problems invisible braces can correct include crooked or spaced teeth, crowded teeth, and a few teeth that are out of position.  However, clear aligners are usually not suitable for extraction cases, and patients compliance is the most important factor in treatment success.

Lingual Braces

Lingual braces (Incognito® by 3M Oral Care or WIN® System by DW Lingual Systems) are similar to traditional braces in that brackets and wires are installed in the mouth and on the teeth to fix misalignments. However, lingual braces differ because they are almost entirely invisible. They are placed on the back of the teeth facing the tongue, rather than the front of the teeth. Because of this, lingual braces allow for a more discreet option for orthodontic patients not willing to wear traditional braces for a lengthy amount of time.  And lingual braces is best for those cases which are not suitable for Clear Aligners. (e.g. Extraction cases)
